bloody golf!

Didn't tell you about Burswood did I? I wonder why? The course was OK, quite a lot of work going on so lost our way a bit. A few of the greens were being upgraded or whatever so they created temporary ones at the end of the fairway just before the existing green. Of course the grass was not the nice smooth grass of the green but the bumpy , weedy, crappy grass of the fairway. Just an area with a bloody hole in it. Consequently when you hit the ball it did not run on a smooth straight line. Anyway it WAS a challenge and we did enjoy the exercise. It was a lovely day and the score was not as bad as I thought it was going to be.
BUT last Thursday we 9 holers went to Peninsular in Maylands and I had a shocker. So bad I haven't told anyone my score! The course was good but I have developed an error in my drive and have to work on it. I think the break when we go on holidays might do me good.
Jas we did check out the house in Watervista Road and loved it! Sure is a good buy and a great location.

A new week begins

Off to Burswood Golf Course tomorrow. Have not played it before but am looking forward to it. I hear there are a few water hazards so am taking a supply of old balls.
I am going with Lyn Wilson as she takes me each Thursday to Whaleback so I am taking her for a change. She is very excited to say the least as she loves her golf.
Will report how we go.

All's well.

Off to travel agent tomorrow to make the final payment on our trip. Saw her on Tuesday and got the car hire, train tickets, ferry tickets and accommodation sorted. Will be getting our receipts and this makes it very easy for us. The only money we need now is for food and fuel and some shopping and of course some adventures. I am not the very adventurous type so will be a very good observer. Talking about adventurous I mean, bungy jump, crazy jet boat rides, white water rafting and all that type of stuff. Love walking and checking out what the towns may have on offer. Boy did we do our fair share of that when we were in London and Israel. Will take lots of photos and look forward to jotting down everything that we do in my diary in the evenings.

Here I am again!

The weeks are flying past and the wedding is fast approaching. After trying on about 20 outfits (maybe a few less actually) I have decided on one and am happy! I guess you can keep looking and keep finding something better but once you have made the decision then don't look anymore is my advice. I now have 6 weeks to get the trimmings ie shoes, bag blah blah. I won't go on as it may sound tedious, exciting for me tedious for you.
Golfing tomorrow and hope to do well. Not championships but I have changes my style of putting and was well pleased with myself last week so look forward to trying again. I hope to get my best score yet so will keep you posted.
Nanna Hutchens had to go to hospital last night from the nursing home as one of her routine blood tests had an abnormal result. It is the one that checks on her blood remaining thin so that the chance of another stroke or a heart attack is remote. The level went up way too high so they took her to hospital to stabilise it and do some tests. Dad has gone down this afternoon so will get a report when he gets home. She seems fine and will probably be back in the nursing home tomorrow maybe. Poor grandad it is so stressful for him and not surprisingly he does not cope so well.

After the weekend

Well back safe and sound from our trip down south. Looking at the paper this morning I saw that there was a nasty accident on the old coast road. These were people that had also been away for a break over the weekend but ended up in a 4 car collision. It brings home how lucky we are and just how easy things happen. Scary!!
Well the forestry huts in Myalup were very basic but had a wood fire and a gas stove and fridge. What more do you need. No TV or phone but of course we all had our mobiles and they DID work surprisingly. We had an overcast day on saturday for our golf. A group of 3 ladies and then following them a group of the 4 men. They had played on Friday so were already a bit leg weary. They pulled up lame in the evening but a few glasses red (purely for medicinal purposes) helped them past the pain. We went into Harvey after golf and checked out somewhere to eat. The pub had a function on in the dining room and they had a big screen TV in the bar and it was going to be packed so we opted for a little restaurant in the main street called Bella's. We were the only peopled there and the owner probably was looking at having the night off. Still we spent a bit of money there and had quite a chat to him and his daughter. His wife was the cook and most of us ordered Harvey Beef (as you do) and it was very nice indeed.
We all went home satisfied.

weekend away

Its getting late and Im about to go to bed. Prepared for a weekend away in Myalup. There is a group of 8 going and the men are leaving early to play golf at Binningup and then we will join them for a 2 night stay in the forestry workers cottage. There are 7 cottages in all and sleep 8 and are very cheap. We are taking lots of food and booze and there is no TV or phone. We have our mobile but it will probably be out of range. We are off to Harvey for golf on saturday and this time the girls also get to play. In the evening we are going to the Harvey pub for a meal and the men are hoping that there is a TV so they can see the Eagles game.
Weather is terrific and when we take off tomorrow they are forecasting 24 degrees.
Had an average day at golf today as I hurt my back on Monday and it was still a bit sore. Last round of the club championships. Great to be out on such a lovely day.
Nanna H and nanna N still going on much the same. Calling in to see grandad on sunday for fathers day, he won't be interested in that at all.
Cheers !

golf day

Well this was my golf day and although I was going to woos out I did finally decide to go along. The weather was certainly forecast to be a bit ordinary but we thought we would chance it. Surprisingly quite a few women turned up so I realise that I was not the only silly one out there! We were wondering why it was so quiet and realised very soon that all of those not attending (including all the men that we usually see out there)were safely tucked up in bed or at the movies. We were all queued up ready to tee-off and the skies opened up. It rained quite heavy and blew like a hurricane. We all had our wet weather gear on and put our brollies up very quickly. The ladies were laughing and singing in the rain and it was rather good. We all got a little wet but decided to be brave and push on. I was in the final group to tee off and by that time the rain had vanished and the sky was blue and the air warm. It stayed that way until all the groups had finished playing and then as we left the club rained heavily once again. It is now quite windy and it is forecast to be cold and very wet later today and tomorrow. I feel good that I got golf in although I would have preferred to do better than 58. It is the final round of our club championships next week so I am hoping for a nice fine day and a bit of form so I can do well.
